I know that i left class early on thursday so i didn't have the chance to see this KKK website everyone is commenting about. But this is what I think is funny... no one that I know ever gets offended by the term "cracker" or any of the other terms white people get called. I rarely get defensive with things and maybe it's because the n word and the whole klan coming up were probably rough and maybe it has more meaning. Don't you ever think "what if blacks were more dominant and the whites were slaves?" do you think that then we would find "cracker" to be a derogitory term. just food for thought. something that boggles my mind.

I do think that the "n" word is very hurtful to African Americans because of the history behind the name. What I don't agree with is why they insist on calling each other that word. If they want the rest of the world to stop saying the "n" word, they should abolish it themselves! No one likes a hypocrite!
You know I really like what you said, most people don't stop to think about that. I think that there needs to be an equal respeict for others and for yourself.
Yeah, I've thought about that quite a bit...if blacks happened to be more dominant than whites. Sometimes I think that we as whites are a little bit ungrateful for what we have.
Nice, I've thought about that as well. It seems that terms like "cracker" or "honkey" don't really threaten white people because they are the ones in power. They haven't had to endure true mistreatment under these names.
That is a good point, and something to think about. What if things were different, I like how you posted a question that is deeply thought provoking. Most likely we would find the word 'cracker' derogatory.
